Current estimates suggest that “the number of job seekers in the region will top 39 million over the next decade.” Massive amounts of talented and educated youth lack opportunities locally and end up jobless or in unsatisfying jobs.
At the same time, there are hundreds of thousands of talent shortages in the tech industry in Europe (software engineering, product, marketing, etc.). Why aren’t we bridging the gap? The typical answers are: it’s too expensive, education can’t be fixed, and companies don’t care about faraway talent.
TAP (the Talent Acceleration Platform) is a Dutch-Palestinian edtech and career acceleration platform designed to unlock remote job opportunities for youth in the Arab World.
While being mentored by industry experts, TAP participants enhance and deepen market-relevant digital skills and improve their power skills, before they are connected with international employers to work remotely.
We are on our way to train our 400th participant and showing great traction and results, with over 80% placement rate and a fast- growing partner network.
As we scale our operations and expand to more niches & markets, we are looking to enhance our capabilities in data-driven decision making.
Therefore, we are seeking a talented and experienced Data Analytics Engineer to join our team on a consultancy-basis. You will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and optimizing data pipelines, as well as designing and implementing data models to support our analytics and reporting needs. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to understand requirements, design solutions, and deliver actionable insights. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data engineering, proficiency in ETL processes, data warehousing, expertise in data visualization tools, and a passion for leveraging data to drive business decisions.

Develop and maintain scalable data pipelines for ingestion, processing, and storage of large volumes of structured and unstructured data.
Extract data from various sources and build ETL pipelines to feed into data warehouse
Design and implement data models to support analytics and reporting requirements, ensuring data integrity, accuracy, and performance.
Collaborate with developers, product managers, and business stakeholders to understand data requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
Perform data profiling, cleansing, and transformation to ensure data quality and consistency.
Optimize and tune data pipelines and queries to improve performance and efficiency.
Implement and maintain data governance policies and standards to ensure compliance and security.
Evaluate and integrate new technologies and tools to enhance data processing, analytics, and visualization capabilities.
Develop insightful and interactive data visualizations using tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or Qlik to communicate complex data analysis results to stakeholders.
Develop and maintain documentation for data pipelines, data models, and visualization processes.
Hand over all your work to internal stakeholders when the assignment is completed.
3+ years of experience in data engineering and analytics, with a focus on building and maintaining data pipelines, data warehouses, and creating data visualizations.
Proficiency in ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes and tools, such as Airbyte and dbt.
Strong programming skills in languages such as SQL and Python.
Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS or Google Cloud Platform.
Solid understanding of relational and NoSQL databases, data modeling techniques, and data warehousing concepts.
Proficiency in data visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, Excel, or Qlik.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment.
Proven track record of delivering high-quality solutions in a fast-paced environment.
This is a hands-on role where the candidate is expected to work directly with code, building, maintaining, and optimizing.
We prefer hiring a consultant who is able to work 2-3 full months with our team on a full-time capacity. In case this is not possible, we are open to part-time arrangements.
